An Evening with Michael McAllister at Joseph Brant Museum Sept 6, 2012.
Posted by: museumAndrea

When: Friday, March 02, 2012 to Friday, September 07, 2012

The Hamilton and Scourge were initially called the Diana and Lord Nelson before the War of 1812. The two vessels were merchant schooners pressed into service for the American Navy. Both vessels foundered in Lake Ontario on August 8, 1813. Today they rest under 300 ft of water. Join Michael McAllister, curator of the Hamilton and Scourge National Historic Site as he brings to life the fated schooners, gives insight into the process of underwater archaeology and the steps being taken to preserve our past. For more information and to register please contact the Joseph Brant Museum at 905-634-3556.
